Recent experiences

I decided to become a marine scientist when I was 14 years old and I never regretted that choice.

From diving in the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans for recreational and science, I saw first-hand how coral reefs have being damaged. Having been fortunate to admire some of the most diverse ecosystems in the world, I am eager to combat its decline through research efforts.

Researcher in Palau, Micronesia

Currently

Cinzia is working as a researcher at the Palau International Coral Reef Center (PICRC). Cinzia's research aims to understand juvenile corals' plastic response across different environments. Cinzia is also managing a project financed by CORDAP to investigate the heritability of coral thermo-tolerance.

This is an incredible opportunity for Cinzia to improve her knowledge of juvenile coral husbandry while collaborating with researchers from other institutions.
